Tattoo aftercare information and instructions
**Aftercare starts as soon as the appointment is over. Lasting about 2 weeks. Thoroughly wash your hands before touching your new tattoo. If you got a wrap on your tattoo, it can stay on for up to 5 days. If water gets into the bandage, take it off immediately, wash with a mild scent less soap, and apply a thin layer of ointment. You can purchase aftercare through the shop, or on your own. I suggest aquafor if you do not wish to purchase through shop.
~Do NOT submerge your tattoo fully in water for 10-14 days, run warm water over it washing it, PAT TO DRY.
~Only use your ointment for 3 days unless otherwise instructed, you then should move to a lotion, cetaphil, luberderm, and coconut oil. A NON-SCENTED LOTION.
~Washing your tattoo 1-3 times a day, keeping it as moisturized as possible, yet not “wet”, your skin should not look shinny. “Less is more”.
**Avoid the sun as best you can. It will cause your tattoo to heal poorly. No you cannot go swimming, this is why we encourage you to take advantage of the colder months. The chlorine will fade your tattoo, the sun can fade your tattoo, and most importantly, the lake ,ocean, any body of water can contaminate your tattoo and cause an open wound. Resulting in infection or worse. DO NOT GO FISHING**
Do not message me asking what’s wrong, then telling me the reasoning I give is false. I dry heal, I know what it looks like. If you do not wash your hands before touching your tattoo every single time, you’re risking giving yourself an infection as your hands are one of the nastiest, germiest parts of the body. PLEASE be clean and care for yourself safely and respectfully!
You can ALWAYS reach out if you have any questions. -Ap
